This organization from Cartersville, GA was a secret society with a state structure 
and local lodges. It provided sick benefits and funeral benefits from membership dues. 
The Cartersville Council (#27) was organized September 30, 1904, and met biweekly. 
The minute book for 1904-1909 has the minutes of the first four meetings in the back 
of the book. The other minute books cover 1928-1933, 1933-1939, 1939-1947, 1947-1956. 
They include: roll of officers, membership elections, dues collection, proposals for 
membership, names of members, amounts for sick, funeral benefits, evening's receipts, 
and balance. The Council History and Roll Book contain the roll of officers for 1925 
and 1938-1948.
