Godfrey Barnsley established "Woodlands," a plantation between Kingston and 
Adairsville in Bartow County during the 1840s. He continued to develop the 
property and its structures during the 1850s. After the Civil War, his daughter 
Julia Baltzell and her husband tried to re-establish the plantation, following 
the war's financial disaster. These letters are to the descendants of Godfrey 
Barnsley and relate to the later history of the family. The estate return also 
deals with part of the property.
