Allatoona Pass |
| Members of the Allatoona Pass Battlefield Committee are responsible
for the preservation and maintenance of the Allatoona Pass Battlefield
site. This includes clearing trails and expanding the accessibility
of the park by visitors. On occasion, members may be asked to lead special
tours. |

Courthouse Office |
| Located in the historic 1903 gold-domed county courthouse, the EVHS
office is first and foremost a research facility. Of equal importance
is its function as a base of operations for the society. The Office
Committee is responsible for greeting the public, assisting visitors
with their historical and genealogical queries, and maintaining a relaxed
business atmosphere. Committee members are asked to contribute three
or more hours a month to keeping the office open, and receive training
in equipment use and maintenance (easy), filing, and other general office
procedures. Members may be asked to assist the chairman with mailouts,
inventory, and other office procedures as the need arises. |

Family Tree Climbers |
| The Genealogy Committee meets quarterly at 7:00pm on the 1st Saturday
of March, June, September and December in the EVHS office, and meetings
are open to the general public. Committee members may be asked to contribute
program ideas and help engage speakers. On occasion, member's knowledge
of genealogy and specific family lines may see them called upon by the
Research Committee to assist in answering queries. |

Friendship Cemetery |
| The long neglected Friendship Cemetery has been cleared of debris
and shrubbery. EVHS has plans to build trails, erect signs, and have
a fence built by the owner. |

Historic Sites |

Membership |
| The Membership Committee is responsible for the organized solicitation
of prospective members. This may include membership drives in the community
and among other organizations, and locating contacts to keep abreast
of new residents to Bartow County. Committee members may be asked to
greet and introduce new members at meetings, and assist the chairman
as needed at membership meetings. |

Membership Meetings |
| The Membership Meetings Committee is responsible for seeing to the
details of all society meetings and social gatherings. This includes
working with hosts and hostesses, engaging speakers or entertainment,
and coordinating with a caterer or otherwise providing for refreshments.
Committee members may be asked to greet visitors at meetings, collect
monies at the door, and help set up or decorate. Dinner meetings are
often held in historic homes, and a minimum of six meetings are held
yearly, beginning with a social gathering in December and ending with
the Annual Business & Dinner meeting in October. |

Newsletter |
| The EVHS Newsletter is published four times yearly, and includes original
researched articles of historic significance to Bartow County, reprinted
material from our archives, committee reports, meeting reports, and
news of the society's current activities and interests. Committee members
are encouraged to submit original material and photographs our readers
would find interesting, and to solicit the same from others for publication.

Research |
| Research Committee members may be asked to conduct deed searches,
read old county newspapers on microfilm, or otherwise locate historical
information at the request of visitors and other EVHS committees. Familiarity
with local history and events is not essential, as knowledge will increase
with each research request. Instruction on deed searching and the use
of microfilm is provided (easy). Members are encouraged to pursue their
own research interests and contribute their findings to the society's
newsletter and archives. |

Tour of Homes |
| The Tour of Homes Committee is responsible for the planning, organization
and execution of the biannual Tour of Historic Homes. Committee members
are asked to participate in all aspects of the project, including researching
homes and properties, serving as hosts and hostesses within the homes,
and shuttling ticket holders back and forth. |
